Hanoi – Halong Bay – Sapa – Ninh Binh (3 days is Hanoi, 1 day in Halong Bay, 2 days in Sapa and 1 day in Ninh Binh)

In this 8-day tour, you have a great chance to explore all 4 destinations which are the most famous ones  in North Vietnam to both Vietnamese and international tourists. However, because of travelling to these 4 destinations included within 8 week, this itinerary will be quite rush. Therefore, it is more appropriate for adventurous souls or group of friends, young people who desire to experience the fullest of Northern Vietnam.

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Time for relax

For the first day in Hanoi, you may be tired after a long flight, therefore, it is better to take a rest and make preparation for the next 7 days of Vietnam adventure. At this time, you can enjoy delicious specialties in Hanoi that is highly recommended for every tourist first coming to Hanoi. Also, you can spend night time relaxing in Ta Hien Street – a famous street of fun and interesting things that should visit.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour – Travelling around Hanoi

After the first relaxing day, you will spend your time discovering well-known places in Hanoi. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is one of the must-visit places where you can explore brand-new things about lifestyle and culture. Next, you can visit other famous sites such as Temple of Literature, Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum, Great Church or Hanoi Opera House. In this second day, you can also continue to enjoy different cuisine in Hanoi since there are a plenty of choices for you.

Day 3: Ninh Binh – Visiting Hoa Lu – Tam Coc

Ninh Binh is also a must-visit destination in Vietnam. There are a range of places worth visiting in this beautiful province, yet as I have experienced, I highly suggest Hoa Lu – Tam Coc for your journey.

Joining in this tour, you will have a good chance to explore the culture and history of Vietnam through Hoa Lu – known as the ancient capital of Vietnam. Here, you will be introduced about Vietnamese history through Dinh and Le dynasties while visiting temples of these kings, respected as heroes with great contribution to the preservation of Vietnam.

Besides, you will immerse yourself into the stunning beauty of Tam Coc nature. There, you will take a ride boat with locals, passing through spectacular systems of mysterious caves and observing typical limestones. I am sure that the nature beauty will surprise you so that don’t forget to take as many pictures as possible. Moreover, you can also join a cycling route throughout villages, rice fields and karsts and enjoy the fresh air in countryside.

Day 4 & 5: Halong Bay

Within 2 days in Halong, you can contemplate the nature beauty of this amazing bay, recognized as one of the 7 world wonders by UNESCO. Involving in this Halong Bay Cruise, you can participate in a variety of different energetic and interesting activities when discovering this beautiful bay.

For the first day in Halong, you should spend time visiting well-known places in the bay. Halong is noted for hundreds of beautiful islands and islets that will make an impression on every single tourist. You can visit Ti Tov Island – one of the most beautiful island on Halong Bay. Besides, you can explore Thien Cung Cave and involve in fisherman’s lifestyle in fish villages.

In the next day, you can join exciting activities such as kayaking, swimming, sightseeing, participating in cooking competition or just enjoying sunset on Halong Bay.

Day 6 & 7: Sapa – Stop Station for amazing adventure

Tip: Take a train or a bus in the previous night, highly recommend cabin bus and sleeper train.

In the first day in Sapa, you should take a short rest before starting your exploration. Next, you should go trekking to some ethnic villages such as Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van. The trekking route is mainly downhill and it is one of the most exciting part in which you can learn more about culture and lifestyle of ethnic minorities.

Ta Van village is around 7 kilometers far away from Sapa town center, located in the middle of Muong Hoa valley. Here you can enjoy the spectacular nature beauty of majestic mountains, rice terraces and the wonderful Mountain of Fansipan.

In the second day, after breakfast, let’s go to Sapa market to see local products such as local food, fruit, vegetables, traditional clothes, handicraft brocades or indigo fabrics and you may find something interesting for yourself. Next, you can walk down to visit Cat Cat village, known as home to H’Mong ethnic people. Cat Cat village is famous for brocade fabrics and and silvery jewelry including necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings that is sophisticatedly produced.

Day 8: Hanoi Departure

In this day, you are free enjoy your last day in Hanoi or just relax before coming back home. You can buy some souvenirs, enjoy delicious cuisine or take some pictures of Hanoi.
